• Art like you see at Afrika Burn or maybe something homemade to improve cell phone/radio reception. On top of a water tank? OR Left-over scene element from the Mad Max movie that wad filmed in Namibia, the one with Charlize Theron. -- Doris & Bernd
• Everyone knows that the Bushmen invented cell phone masts hundreds of years ago, before even cell phones were invented! -- Stu
• I think it could be and old water tower which a creative, crazy man has used as a base for his sculpture and antennae for communicating with sentient life in outer space. -- Mary Anne
• That monstrosity is a windmill with storage tanks of yesteryears on the R13 between Aus and Helmeringhausen. -- Coennie
• Some sort of water storage tank with a weird shaped windmill or some nefarious leftover from the war. -- Jocelynne
• Looking at the height of the centre mast sticking out of the ground plane vs the size of tat plane, that there is what appears to be a small cross element at the end of the mast, and tentatively appears to be a line angling back from that hub (I don’t think guy wire) I think might be part of a radiative element. -- Trish (or via Trish)

• You'll read about the tower if you Google: " The Tower of Tiras" Helmeringhausen Siegfried Schnebel. I did Google image search to find 30 other photos of the same structure (tho on Wikipedia). Most just call it a windpump. This one tells you about the maths teacher who designed it. -- Kim
